Anyo everyone! Sorry I have been relatively MIA all summer…Just trying to lap up every second of fun, sun, mountains and adventure in the States before I headed back to my second season in South Korea and it’s already August and here I am! I have an overwhelming amount of juicy photos and memories to share from the summer that I hope to have uploaded here before season starts mid-October. So stay tuned for all of that.
I am so excited to be back. It’s such a different dynamic when you come back to the same pro team for a second season and already have the lay of the land. I have been able to jump right in where I left off, and thus the transition back to overseas life has been the smoothest one yet. For that, I am so very grateful.
As many of you already know Dorogonsa (Korea Expressway HiPass VBC for my American frands) has seen many changes over the summer months. We have an entirely new and awesome coaching staff, amazing new translator, and I have gained and lost a few teammates. The vibe in the gym is noticeably different and the team looks strong and in better shape than ever.
We did not finish as we all had hoped last season, so I am excited to see what these changes bring for the team and for me as a player this season.
We kick off the KOVO league at home on October 15 at 4 PM vs. IBK Altos. Let the countdown begin! Ps. Look for a post to come with the full season schedule, and details on where to find everything during the season.
I was so thankful to be able to get outside this weekend for a little fun in the sun with my babes (more sun for me since I was the only one in a bikini). We spent an afternoon in Seungju county at what my adorable translated as a “mountain pool,” or river flowing through a beautiful valley where we could hang and float. Riiiiight up my alley, and the perfect ending the first successful week of practices and workouts, and almost made me feel like I was back in the Rockies, only a lot more green!
In honor of being back in Korea, I wanted to share a few photos from a quick trip to Busan when my mom was in town at the end of the season. I fell in love with the women selling fish at the famous Jagalchi Market and snapped a few of my favorites.
Cheers to year two! XO 시크라
