Lost files: Milano

Milan was the last stop on our 10 day trip, so by this time everyone was a litttttleeee bit tired. It just happened to be on our way back from Rome so we thought, what the heck, might as well stop. A few girls from another club in Northern France, and a former Florida Gator came down and met us for the day. We wandered to another Duomo (which I found out is a term for a cathedral church in Italian so that’s the reason why it seemed like every church was called that haha) This square was basically smack in the middle of the city and all of the shopping streets branched off from that.

It was another gorgeous day (we really were blessed with good weather the majority of the trip). Before we hit the shopping, we found this giant formerly-moated castle that had been made into a few different museums and we sat in this gorgeous park for a while. It was cool to see some green space in a city so overtaken with buildings and architechture. We found our way back to the main square for shopping after some sub-par pizza, which was really our ONLY bad meal we had the whole trip (and watched some awesome street performers along the way).  We almost got soaked again as we were finishing shopping in the early evening. And we ended up going back to an amazing pizza place right next to our hotel for the second night in a row. It was so good we had to go back!   After Alyssa and I said bye to the girls from Mulhouse we popped into another bar to share some more wine and got into a little more than we bargained for.

We had to leave at 6 o’clock the next morning, and conveniently made friends with the Egyptian man who was the owner of the other bar. Next thing we know we were munching on this amazing flatbread, and skyping Alyssa’s girlfriend and taking lemoncello shots with this bartender. It was definitely not how we expected the night to go, but it was one of the funnest parts of the trip . And it was so fun to have a little solo time with my roommate, knowing we only had a week left together. Our Sunday morning wake up was a little rough, and we hoped on a bus by 8 am that took us from Milan through Nice and to Marseille. It was such an awesome trip and I’m so grateful for the time we had to be able to do a little bit of traveling.  I can’t express my gratitude enough for this whole experience.  And I hope that the travels only continue.

Leslie nice shots and story about Milano. That was one place we did not get to.

How are things going at the beach. Your Mother said the apartment was under destruction. Has it been pulled back together?

Any more contact from your agent? All is wet here much rain over the last several days, but we needed it. Much Love Grandpa
