First practice!

Ah first practice is down.  And with not knowing what to expect it went very well.  I am so excited to be a part of this program.  We started this morning with a circuit lift, similar to what I did at Tennessee, but much different exercises.  Very balance, explosion and acceleration oriented, which I really like.  These are all things I know I need to continue to get better at so I am looking forward to seeing progress.  The staff are all very knowledgeable and coached throughout the workout.  It was good to get feedback on things that are good, and things that I can do better.

That was only the morning session, and after lunch we had practice.  It was serve and pass and defense based, no offense really.  Much slower than an American practice, but I like it because it allows you to focus on reps more.  We started with a serve receive butterfly drill, continued with match serving and finished practice with defense.  I am learning a lot of different things, but I can tell the level of play is going to be good.  I can’t wait to get scrimmaging.

I am off for the rest of the day and need to go back to the store as food is low already 🙂 But I love my new home and I am excited to see where this all takes me.

ImageAlso, here is a picture of me on the tight ropes at the tree climbing activity I was talking about.  And some of my teammates and I, on the beach and before the tree climbing!

Ps. I am currently eating baby tomatoes.  And the fruit and vegatables are soo fresh, they taste like they are straight from le jardin! (the garden :D)

So glad that you are off to such a positive start. It sounds wonderful. The picture of you on the ropes is enough to make my heart stop. I could not do that! You and your teammates look pretty gorgeous.
You will eat very well while in France. Do you know French women shop every day with their little string bags? At least they used to. I never thought about giving you one of my bags which I’ve had forever. I think they are in Pearl’s trunk.
Do they really say “ciaio” in France? Gramps bought a magazine at Barnes and Noble called “France” and Istres is mentioned in some item. I haven’t had a chance to read it yet.
    Ciaio yourself!
